National Indigenous Peoples Day
Every year, First Nations, Inuit and Métis communities across the country host events to celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day on or around June 21 to share and celebrate their rich and diverse cultures and traditions. Simons Valley School students will have opportunities within their classes to discuss and celebrate this important day.
Lost and Found
The lost and found is on display at the front of the school. Any items not claimed by the end of day Jun 26 will be donated.
Parent Council Positions Still Available
One of the most important ways you can make a meaningful difference in the life of your child is by participating with the School Council. We work together with the principal and school community to support and enhance student learning and their overall school experience. The term for each position is two years and you can find the available positions and details below.
Fundraising Coordinators
Help plan, promote, and organize fundraising activities throughout the school year, such as the Halloween Hop family dance and product fundraisers such as Purdy’s Chocolates - or any new ideas you bring to the team!
Junior High Liaison – Valley Creek
Share news and events with our School Council and school community. Best suited for a parent with a child at Valley Creek as well as SVS
Bikes and Scooters on School Property
For everyone's safety, students and parents are reminded to walk their bikes and scooters while on school property. Riding on school grounds can create safety hazards and may result in collisions with other people, vehicles, or school property.
Parking at SVS
The school parking lot is reserved for staff only and is not to be used by parents at any time. Buses require clear access to enter and exit safely, and additional vehicles create congestion and safety concerns.
Please use the “Hug and Go” area on the main road or park in the community and walk to the school. When walking, we ask that you use sidewalks and avoid cutting through the parking lot.
Thank you for helping keep our school community safe.
