School Council Meeting (Feb 19 @ 7pm)
This month’s principal report will address the School Development Plan, the school budget, and school fees. Parents/guardians will get some insight into how the school operates and will have an opportunity to ask questions. One question that we would appreciate for some feedback is does your child's learning benefit from the goal(s), outcome(s), actions and resources in the SDP?
We are also fortunate to have the Chair of the Board of Trustees for the Calgary Board of Education, Laura Hack, attend our meeting. Laura is also our Trustee for Wards 3 and 4. More information on Laura and her extensive background in supporting public education can be found here.
Report Cards
In the past, the wellbeing of your student has been attended to within a general comment. This reporting period will have this information located in the Physical Education and Wellness section. Likewise, comments regarding the other courses (e.g ELAL, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, etc) will be located in these subject specific sections.
Boots For Kids
For the past two years, our school has been fortunate to receive donated boots from The Boots for Kids Foundation, helping keep our students’ feet warm and dry. To learn more about this wonderful charity—and to make a donation if you are able—please visit the link below:

Candy Fundraisers
Two separate candy fundraisers will be taking place next week. Each fundraiser supports different grade‑level initiatives, and both contribute to important year‑end activities such as yearbooks, field trips, Farewell events, and Camp experiences.
1. Grade 6 Valentine’s Candy Gram Fundraiser
Students will be able to purchase Valentine’s candy grams on:
- Monday, February 9 - Wednesday, February 11
- Cost: $1 per candy gram
- Distribution: Candy grams will be handed out on the same day students purchase them.
This fundraiser helps support Grade 6 year‑end activities, including Farewell and a year end field trip.
2. Grade 5 Lunar New Year Candy Bag Fundraiser
Grade 5 students will be selling Lucky Candy Bags in celebration of the Lunar New Year. Funds raised will support their Camp Chief Hector field trip, helping ensure all Grade 5 students can participate as well as other year end activities.
Sales Dates:
- Monday, February 9 – Wednesday, February 11
Cost:
- Small bag: $1
- Large bag: $2
Distribution:
- Tuesday, February 17 for Grades K–5
- Wednesday, February 18 for Grade 6
