Gratitude
Our main contractor that is preparing our portables, JC Construction Team, has been excellent at not interrupting our schedules and moving a great deal of equipment safely in and out of our campus. We appreciate their care of our students and our community.
Safety Moments
Recess soccer is very popular among many students. There can be some hyper focus upon winning but for the most part students cope well with the ebb and flow of scoring and being scored upon. This is one aspect of play students are working on both inside and outside of the classroom. One aspect that is making these “pick up” games unsafe is the use of soccer cleats. There are many students that do not wear soccer cleats and others that bring them to school. Given that students challenge each other for the ball and inadvertently step on each other’s ankle, toes, and heals, it is a safety hazard. Students without soccer cleats can get hurt. Therefore, for students to play soccer at school, cleats are not permitted.
Volunteering and Police Information Check (PIC)
We encourage parents to be a part of their student’s learning experience when possible. We know many families have busy schedules, but if you can volunteer on a field trip or school event, we appreciate it. Please contact the office to get your PIC started so that you can volunteer this year. The process can take 2-4 weeks.
Have a great week.
