Good evening Simons Valley families
As we head into the final stretch before summer holidays, things are as busy as ever at Simons Valley! A big thank you to our amazing School Council for their continued support. We held our final meeting of the year last Thursday...and it just might have brought the Oilers a bit of good luck too! We may need to hold an emergency meeting on Tuesday to keep them alive. Mr. Chong may be a little grumpy if the Oilers have troubles this week, so for the sake of his students and colleagues, I will cheer for our neighbours up north.

- June 19 – Grade 6 Vaccinations

- June 23 – Grade 6 & EES Field Trip to Granary Road
- June 24 – Sports Day
- June 25 – Grade 6 Farewell: 2:30–3:30 p.m.
- June 25 – Last day for PM Kindergarten
- June 26 – Last day of school & early dismissal at 1:40 p.m.

Grade 6 Farewell & Stay and Play Events
- June 19: Stay and Play – 3:50–5:30 p.m. Join us after school at the park for a community celebration organized by School Council. Food vendors will be onsite for families to purchase snacks and dinner. Feel free to wear your spirit wear.
- June 25: Grade 6 Farewell + Food Trucks After our Grade 6 Farewell ceremony, food trucks will be parked at the school until 6:00 p.m. All SVS staff, students, and families are invited to join us in celebrating our Grade 6 students as they prepare to head off to junior high!
👉 Please note: All children must be accompanied by an adult at both events.
June is National Indigenous History Month
Every June, we honour the heritage, cultures, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples in Canada. June 21 is National Indigenous Peoples Day, a time to reflect, learn, and grow together.
This is a meaningful opportunity for our school community to deepen our understanding and build stronger relationships through shared learning.

Casino Volunteers Needed – November 15 & 16, 2025
Simons Valley School has once again been awarded a fundraising casino – and we need your help to make it a success!
📍 Location: Ace Casino Airport 📅 Dates: November 15–16, 2025
Our last casino raised essential funds that directly supported student programs and enrichment opportunities. No police clearance is needed, and any adult (18+) can volunteer — so feel free to recruit family, friends, and neighbors!
