Good afternoon families of Simons Valley School
Today we had many learning activities going on in all corners of the school. Grade 5s celebrated their learning with a carnival in our Buffalo space. The carnival involved many different games using recyclable materials that were designed to entertain and collect data. The data was managed by the students and used to create graphs and interpret scores. It was a fun way to learn mathematics that involved many students in an exciting game-based activity. Ask your grade 4 and 5 students about their new applied math skills.

NEW Hockey Rink
What: Celebrate the Grand Opening of our NEW Hockey Rink
Where: The NEW Rink! at 355 Sandarac Drive NW
When: Rescheduled Date – Sunday, January 26, 2025 – 12:00pm – 2:00pm
- 12:00pm, – Guests Arrive…remember to bring your skates!
- 12:15pm – Thank you to our Sponsors & Partners
- 12:30pm – Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
- 12:35pm – Skate Party! (no sticks or pucks)
- Rink closed until ribbon cutting; no hockey until 2pm please
- Free light refreshments provided, including hot chocolate and donuts!
Skating (Feb 3-7, 2025)
If you are able to volunteer for our skating program, please contact your student’s teacher or our School Council volunteer coordinator. We are in need of more volunteers to help tie skates. Volunteers DO NOT need to know how to skate. All we need is your fingers, some patience, and a warm smile.
School Council Meeting in February (Feedback session)
Our administration team will be sending a survey and collecting your feedback at our next school council meeting on February 20, 2025. We encourage you to attend to share your thoughts regarding school planning, which includes the school development plan, school budget, and school fees.
