Good afternoon families of Simons Valley School,    

Last night we had our School Council meeting, and we are very grateful for the kind support provided by our families.  We know how hard you work to make SVS a fantastic place and always have our students’ well-being at the center of your decisions.  Thank you for the support to our grade 3 field trips and our plans to support Indigenous education!  Also, thank you to Mrs. Pon, Ms. Mudry, and Mr. Moeller for their presentations to our School Council; your commitment to teaching and learning is exemplary.

Skating (Feb. 3-7, 2025) 

If you are able to volunteer for our skating program, please contact your student’s teacher or our School Council volunteer coordinator.  We are in need of more volunteers to help tie skates.  Volunteers DO NOT need to know how to skate.  All we need is your fingers, some patience, and a warm smile. 

Kindergarten 2025/2026 Registration  

  • 2025-2026 Registration has begun. All students new to the CBE should register online. Learn more in our latest News Story.
  • If you would like to apply to a specialized program for next year (eg TLC, Science school etc.) fill out an Expression of Interest form on your My CBE account. 
  • Students who are moving community's and transferring to another CBE school should fill out a Transfer Form 
  • If your child will not be returning to SVS please let the office know.  

Kindergarten Reporting Structure for the 2024-25 School Year 

Report Cards for Kindergarten are reported via January and June report cards.  In January, progress in ELAL and Math will be communicated to parents/legal guardians via the report card.  In June, progress in all discipline areas will be communicated to parents/legal guardians via the report card.  

Volunteering and Police Information Check (PIC)   

To volunteer at SVS you need to fill out the Annual Volunteer Form on your My CBE account, under “Online Forms and School Registration”. You will also need a Valid Police Clearance that can be obtained at no cost, just upload your driver's license on the Annual Volunteer Form to get the process started. If you have any questions or need assistance, please call the office.  

2025-2026 School Calendar   

The 2025-2026 CBE School Calendar has been approved. The first day of school will be Tuesday September 2, 2025.
