Thank you for your support! Introducing French at G.P. Vanier School – Grades 4-6 We are excited to share that, through a federal grant, students in Grades 4-6 will now have the opportunity to learn French as a Second Language in partnership with G.P. Vanier School. We are fortunate to welcome Madam Blair Rossum as our new FSL teacher. French, as one of Canada’s two official languages, opens doors for students academically, culturally, and socially. Research shows that second-language learning strengthens problem-solving, literacy, and communication skills, while also fostering cultural understanding and future career opportunities (ATA Research Summary). This exciting program will provide our students with valuable skills and experiences that will serve them well throughout their education and beyond. Fun Snack’s and Lunches Fun snacks and lunches will start next month and can only be ordered through the Healthy Hunger website https://healthyhunger.ca/index.php Casino Volunteers Needed – November 15 & 16, 2025 Simons Valley School has once again been awarded a fundraising casino – and we need your help to make it a success! 📍 Location: Ace Casino Airport 📅 Dates: November 15–16, 2025 Our last casino raised essential funds that directly supported student programs and enrichment opportunities. No police clearance is needed, and any adult (18+) can volunteer — so feel free to recruit family, friends, and neighbors! 👉 Click here to sign up via SignUpGenius Thank you in advance for supporting our school community! Safe Morning Drop-Off Reminder As we begin a new school year, we want to ensure that all students arrive safely and smoothly each morning. Please help us keep drop-off safe for everyone by following these important guidelines: · Use the designated drop-off zone only — do not stop in crosswalks, bus zones, or staff parking lots. · Pull forward as far as possible in the drop-off lane to keep traffic moving. · Stay in your vehicle — students should exit quickly and independently from the passenger side. · Do not U-turn or back up in front of the school. · Walkers should use sidewalks and crosswalks, following the directions of staff or patrols. · Arrive on time — doors open at 8:52 and learning begins promptly at 9:02. Your cooperation keeps our school community safe and respectful for all. Thank you for modeling safe and caring citizenship for our students. Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead, Chris Hooper EdD Principal Simons Valley School |
