Student Pick Up and Drop Off

We want to ensure that all students arrive and leave safely and smoothly each day. Please help us keep drop-off/pick-up safe for everyone by following these important guidelines:

·         Use the designated drop-off zone only — do not stop/park in crosswalks, bus zones, or staff parking lot.

·         Pull forward as far as possible in the drop-off lane to keep traffic moving.

·         Stay in your vehicle — students should exit quickly and independently from the passenger side.

·         Do not U-turn or back up in front of the school.

·         Walkers should use sidewalks and crosswalks, following the directions of staff, patrols and safety buddies.

·         Arrive on time — doors open at 8:52am and learning begins promptly at 9:02am.

Your cooperation keeps our school community safe and respectful for all. Thank you for modeling safe and caring citizenship for our students.

Volunteering at SVS

There are many exciting volunteer opportunities at SVS! Volunteers support off-site field trips, to places like the Zoo and Science Centre, as well as on-site activities such as skating and cross-country skiing, classroom activities, and much more.

To become a volunteer, please follow these steps:

Step 1: Complete the Annual Volunteer Form through your My CBE account, found under Online Forms and School Registration. Student and Parent / Legal Guardian Sign In

Step 2: If you have not already completed a Police Clearance, you will receive an email with instructions on how to do so. There is no cost to complete this step. If you already have a valid police clearance on file, no further action is required—you’re all set to volunteer!

If you have any questions, please contact the school office at 403-777-6660 or SimonsValley@cbe.ab.ca

We look forward to seeing you volunteering at the school!

Georges P. Vanier Open House | Late French Immersion

Georges P. Vanier is excited to share information about our late French Immersion program with your Grade 6 students.  We have scheduled Wednesday, February 4th for our open house this year.

The presentation will be approximately 30 minutes in length; our staff will be present to allow for any questions, students and families may have.  Our experienced French Immersion teachers will be joined by our students across grade levels to share information about the program and our students will be available to provide tours.

You are welcome to Georges P. Vanier School's Open House on Wednesday, February 4th from 6:30 - 8:00.

The evening begins at 6:30 with a welcome and overview of Georges P. Vanier.

We look forward to meeting you on February 4th.

Have a wonderful weekend,
