March 21 is World Down Syndrome Day. March 21 is symbolic because people with Down Syndrome have three copies of their 21st chromosome.  

We would like to raise awareness of Down Syndrome as we have members of our school community who have Down Syndrome. On March 20, we will celebrate "Rock Your Socks" Day. Students are encouraged to wear brightly colored mismatched socks to honor individuals with Down Syndrome.
