The first Parent Council Meeting of the school year is coming up next week on Thursday, September 19th at 7pm at the school.

What is Parent Council? We are a group of parent volunteers who have two main roles. We organize various fundraisers throughout the year which raises money to spend in the school on things like computers, gym equipment, library books, field trips, in-school activities, and more! The second role is to connect parents to the school, administration team, and teachers.

Once a month we hold a meeting that our Principal, Mr. Hooper and Assistant Principal, Ms. Pierce attend. They provide updates and information about things happening in the school and also request funding. The meetings are a great way to stay informed and have your say in how our money is spent in the school. You do not need to hold a role on council to attend the meetings; all parents are welcome.

Please note that this meeting is NOT the 'meet the teacher' evening that the school is hosting on September 26th. You will NOT be able to talk with your teacher or see your child's classroom at the parent council meeting on the 19th.

Parent Council also has a very active Facebook group where we share reminders, fundraising, and other information to do with the school. It's also a good resource to ask questions to fellow parents. Please remember to answer the question when you request to join.  https://www.facebook.com/groups/SimonsValleySchool

The meeting agenda and other details will be shared next week. Please join us to connect with the administration team and fellow parents!
